Sales tips blog with sales blog posts containing helpful sales tips. Are you honestly proud to be a sales professional? I grew up with a dad who was a sales professional. He was, and is, a very proud man. There was never any doubt in my mind that sales professionals were assets to the business world, and society in general, when I was growing up.

The Value Of You, The Sales Professional
Not surprisingly, I feel the same way today…the apple never falls far from the tree. Sadly, I think there are a number of people in the  sales profession who don’t appreciate the contributions they make. Sales professionals keep America’s economic engine running. We will play a key role in its recovery.

Why You Are Important

  1. Buyers normally need guidance when they are contemplating a purchase. The more complex the product or service, the truer this is. Buyers don’t pick up the phone and call the CFO, CEO, COO or C-whatever-O; they call a sales professional because they know that’s where they’ll find help. I’m just getting warmed up. I feel passionate about this.
  2. By definition, sales professionals are the perfect liaison between buyer and vendor. That’s the whole idea behind the job description. Have you ever seen a website that can identify a decision maker, ask open ended-questions to qualify a need, and then open a new account?  I haven’t either.
  3. Sales professionals have a unique combination of people skills, verbal skills and product/service skills that will cause two companies (vendor and customer) to come together and transact business that is beneficial to both parties.
  4. People who are not employed as sales professionals do not understand that we’re there before, during and – most importantly -after the sale.

You Are The Stimulus
If you’re a sales professional, you’re helping the wheels of our economy. You are the stimulus package. You help companies and individuals every day. Remember, you create the revenue that runs your company. Millions of companies like yours added together make an economy. You’re part of that. Feel good about what you do.
